Tom told me yesterday that I’m down to posting only once a week. I don’t imagine he wanted my next post be about running but I.D.G.A.F.

Once a week for the last two months I’ve run really hard over the Ben Franklin Bridge and back. It’s exactly 2.5 miles and hilly.

This week I ran 14:00.1 which is the fastest I’ve done it. Aside from those, I haven’t done an actual ‘workout’ (tempo or intervals) since Broad Street.

That incline is steeper than it looks.

I also signed up for Paul Short, which is next weekend.

I have no fucking idea what a 14:00 BFR translates to for an 8k but I’m going to find out.

It’ll probably be ~27:30 like always, but maybe there’s something to tempoing uphill and downhill every week that’s unlocked an extra minute of 8k potential.

Why do I still:

  • Run most days
  • Sacrifice a Friday night
  • Wake up at 6:00am
  • Drive over an hour to Lehigh
  • Just to place 200th and (hopefully) run the same time I ran 7 years ago in college?

I have no idea. It seems like a waste of time.

Let me know if you’re going. Maybe we can carpool!
