I have maybe 3 readers who understand gambling the way I do, which isn’t a lot, but it’s more than most people consider I made 300 bets in 40 days, wagering 10k off of $400, and 99% of the population doesn’t do that in a year. If you don’t “get” the gambling blogs, we’re probably not on the same page when it comes to betting on sports.

I understand why there are some viewpoints of how not watching the game you bet on is malarkey. What people who think this do not understand is that you always have to consider the #1 main point when making a bet which is – HOW MANY EYEBALLS ARE WATCHING THIS? When you bet NBA, the lines are so precise that games will frequently come down to .5 of a point. This means that when you leave that bet you either think, “I was so close” or “wow, I’m a genius”. Games with more eyeballs have tighter lines and thus are harder to win money off of.

Let’s not be results driven as I’ve obviously hemorrhaged money in the WNBA and Tennis, but this is where you’d like to hope people who are picking these games, and giving advice, have an edge. If there is a guy who wakes up at 4am to watch the action in European Tennis matches, and he’s being paid to provide information, I have more faith in those picks than I do getting my info from Brian Windhorst and how LeBron is going to have a “great game”.

The primary goal of betting is making money. The secondary goal is entertainment. When you can do both, then you’re winning.
