With Spotify Wrapped having it’s annual moment, here’s my quick breakdown.

According to Spotify, I listened to about 60,000 minutes of stuff.

Podcasts / audio books made up about 35,000 minutes vs 25,000 minutes of music.

I don’t know how that compares to others, but obviously I prefer podcasts to music. And I want to shout out one today.

It’s no secret that I’m a die-hard Linkin Park fan, (though their new album is pretty meh). At long last, Rob Harvilla has done a podcast episode about them on his famed podcast 60 Songs That Explain the ’90s: The 2000s – In the End – Linkin Park.

It begins with him reading old Rolling Stones reviews of unanimously well-regarded music that in retrospect look stupid. He does this because HE wrote a scathing review of Hybrid Theory, Linkin Park’s first album and one of the best albums of this century, which he admits, was stupid. He then dives into the bands history, their depth, their struggles, and ultimately Chester’s suicide.

If you like Linkin Park, you will like this podcast. If you don’t like Linkin Park but like music in general, you will still probably like the first 30 minutes of this podcast because it’s hilarious.

This kind of content fills the 35,000 minutes annually of my time.
