I called Spieth winning a golf tournament soon on March 13th, 2021 and it happened on April 4th. I had $20 on him to start the Texas Open which is nice spending money for the Masters. Rule 1, never listen to me without understanding that you’re probably going to lose. Rule 2, never, ever, listen to someone who doesn’t put their money where their mouth is. They are the worst.
The Texas Open was a relatively weak field so it’s not that amazing that Spieth took it down. He was able to dominate the par 4’s (-8) and par 5’s (-10) and had incredible putting averaging 24 putts per round with zero 3 putts. Is he worth taking in the Masters at his current price (11.5-1)? I’ll probably put $10 on him just because he has that magic rolling at the moment more than any golfer. Current Odds Below 4/5/21
My Masters Picks
I’ll take DJ to lead after the first round and sprinkle some Reed at 35-1. It’s fair to say that any golfer these days can win this tournament, but I’ll put my money on DJ. If Baylor can win tonight, I’ll take down Softerware’s pool and I also have a large bet on Baylor +4 which will really let me load up on DJ. Sometimes the favorite is the way to go.
DJ won this tournament leading every round only 5 months ago. He won by 4 strokes and it wasn’t like anyone was catching him on Sunday. He’s the best golfer on the planet and I don’t think it’s that close. I say that because when you watch him play, and he’s getting on Par 5’s in 2 and chipping into par 4’s, you don’t catch this guy. If I hit the Baylor game, I’ll be putting at least $50 on him to win outright. As per usual, bet Louis just in case.
