The Doom and Gloom thinking is surrounding everyone. If you are going outside with a mask because the virus can float in the air for 37 feet, you are taking it seriously. That’s a joke before you immediately start thinking I’m one of those people because you’re that type of person.
I’m not going to judge anyone based on your personal fear for your life because it’s your own prerogative, but, the numbers haven’t convinced me yet that this is Captain Trips. We are at 1.4 million total cases. .0002% of the total population. I’m sure that total is closer to 10 million. Maybe even 100 million. Who knows (or cares?) and that’s the next important question, will this be life moving forward, dealing with the corona virus until a vaccine is found? Go NVAX.

While the virus is thwarting the economy, increasing the suicide hotline by 3x, driving members of society to believe that every interaction is another potential scenario you need to quarantine yourself for 14 more days, and crippling people with anxiety if they have a runny nose, headache, fever, or dry cough, there are some positives.
Look On the Bright Side of Life
Who Needs Money? – Talk about a way to save money…never leave your house. I’d be a millionaire if I lived my life in a square every day. Not much to see, but boy would I have a lot of money. Which will make the point that if you can’t do any activities, you hardly even need it. Once again, critics will say, “there are people who can’t work right now who can’t pay their bills. This is serious and you’re gloating that you are saving money.” Notice, you’ll never win because there are two sides to every coin.

Saving the Earth – After reading Ishmael, I’m fairly convinced humans are destroying the Earth and will eventually wipe themselves out. This quarantine however is promoting a lack of carbon into the atmosphere, due to the lack of burning of fossil fuel, which is what environmentalist have been asking for decades. This will have a positive effect on the ozone layer and smog. See LA below. Rolling Stone’s latest issue had the entire theme devoted to this and it’s like I’m being socked in the face by the severity of this and how there are two sides, the capitalists and the eco-friendly naturists, and I’m observing. This is what the emissions look like a year apart from March 1st to March 19th over LA.

Exercise & No Drinking – Perhaps I’m on the other end of the spectrum, as I’ve read people are doing less exercising and more drinking, but I’ve been doing more exercising and less drinking. Without drinking, I’m running about 5 times a week and reducing my times as I’m having no down days (that are usually due to drinking). In the 3 weeks of quarantine, I’ve maybe had 2 drinks, not including the 10 beers I had on the golf course on back to back days when life was still almost normal. It’s nice to see that I don’t have a physical dependency to alcohol. I’m just a binge drinking.

The Boredom – I’ll save the weirdest one for last. I’m not bored through this. I wish I could be a bit more productive and learn a foreign language or master a skill, but I’m not bored. If you’re bored with time on your hands in this day and age, it’s a you problem. Boredom is different from insanity from monotony. That’s a different problem that has me yelling at my computer because it makes a sound when connecting to the internet. Over. And. Over. And. Over.
