I was sitting at a red light and this plebeian was in front of me. They lowered their window and dropped trash onto the street. There are many ways to disrespect the planet, but for some reason, this one is one of the higher ups for me. Let’s examine.

The Evidence

2013 Volkswagon Jetta – I don’t judge vehicles. Poor people can drive high end cars (stupidly) and rich people can drive hoopties (saving money). The car you drive should have very little influence on who you are as person.

Lyft – Noted that this driver earns money by Lyft. Let’s add some positive points for keeping their vehicle clean by throwing their trash out the window.

Stickers – Putting stickers on your car is equivalent to giving up in Warzone. You’ve lost full respect for the vehicle and are ok with leaving disgusting adhesive residue after they stickers are peeled off. I suppose that if the sticker is easily removable, it may be acceptable, but I can’t think of many bumper stickers that are worth adding onto a car. My mom would put our college on her vehicle and it’s embarrassing. There is no good thought process that follows it. If your kid went to MIT then you’re bragging. If they went to Pitt, then people don’t know why you’re trying to brag. If your kid is an honor student, people think they are a nerd. No good outcomes. I was going to analyze these stickers, but I honestly have no clue the rhyme or reason for what these may mean.

Conclusion

The evidence backing up the littering aligns. Now, wouldn’t it be ironic if the person had a “Save the Earth” sticker? Or if the person drove a Leaf? Would my opinion change? No it would not. It is never acceptable to litter because you are lazy. Laziness is not a high performing attribute and littering is disrespectful. Disrespecting critical parts of the world is unacceptable. You don’t spit sunflower seeds on golf greens. You don’t put your bag on the green. You don’t put your shadow in a person’s line. You don’t put your cart in their eye sight. You get the idea? Littering is a worse than all of these.
