Jordan vs Bryon Russell. Shaq vs Chris Dudley. Wilt Chamberlain vs Janitor #3. No sane person chooses Honey Nut Cheerios over Frosted Flakes. Today I bought Honey Nut Cheerios.

I was a cereal eater when I was a kid. Kix. Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Rice Krispie Treats. This was my core diet until I was 17. Then throughout adulthood, I lost my cereal addiction…until recently. I nonchalantly bought a box of FF and remembered the glory days. Then I bought some Honey Nut Cheerios after watching Omar request them. I’ll admit I’ve never robbed a stash house, or used a 12 gauge, so following Omar is a stretch. I did enjoy them though, only not as much as Tony the Tiger. So, why did I choose them even if I like them less?

Knowing the sugar eats away at my enamel was the main reason I chose HNC. The milk at the end of the FF is close to perfection. It’s especially delightful after refilling 3 bowls. Who doesn’t love sugar milk? The best product being a Cookies and Cream milkshake that was bomb.

I’ve started to enjoy the simplicity of cereal. No cooking. No prep. You pour a bowl, eat for 2 minutes, and you’re not as hungry as you once were. A crutch for the lazy. I can’t imagine that HNC are healthy even though the box says “lowers cholesterol”. That statement probably compares a helping of cereal to a diet of Big Mac’s and a 40oz coke. Either way, as much as I wanted the tiger, I chose the bee. The General Mills marketing team should be proud.
