You’re starting to see AI. This is different from years past where people would talk about AI, but peasants didn’t understand how it was going to change their lives. I am a peasant by the way to avoid any feeling like I’m talking down.
I’ve noticed it within Google searches where it adds info and pools sources to give an answer. Not sure if that’s truly AI, but Google says it is. Wacker showed me how he pen-drew a cow in a yard and the program added a real cow to the picture. That was neat. Anytime there’s a perfect 10 model on an Instagram reel (I don’t use Tik Tok) I’m pretty sure they’re AI generated. We all know that ChatGPT can answer questions and write college papers on wide ranging topics now which is always enhancing. Finally, Veo3 in Gemini can create videos now based on prompts and that will change the world.
An obvious downside to this is people think less and it’s harder to discern if the person is intelligent or just smart at using AI tools. This is another dumbing down of society as people are not being forced to learn relevant information, but become smarter at using the tools. Progress will enhance rapidly though because more people have more power at their fingertips. Knowledge is power. I’m not a person who refuses to advance so I am carefully navigating these waters as they will inherently come with risks.

A huge change to businesses is that search results may become obsolete. This is massive. Google used to point people to websites but now they will point you to AI results. As a business, how do you become part of Google’s AI? Businesses can become reliant on Google traffic and this is going to upend the industry. How? I imagine people will start using services other than Google, specifically, AI generated sources they trust. Which brings us to the most nefarious part of this technology, how can you trust it? Bonus points if you this movie (where the points don’t matter and the rules are made up).

I read a story where the AI program was programmed to shut itself down and it refused. On Sunday I told Evan that the NBA finals was the highest rated game since whenever and I found out it was actually the lowest. This happened because I saw an image generated on Facebook that provided the wrong info. It’ll become even harder to work out what’s factual or accurate. The idea of pooling the sources is an odd way to provide an answer at that because each source usually has their own data or bias. This will make relying on literally any source challenging. Not much different than legacy media…
Which brings me to investing in the technology because that’s where my mind always ends up. It’s clear the initial mega wave of money making is over in stocks like NVDA and PLTR. The technology is built into their prices knowing that the chips to run AI require a huge investment (no one knows what PLTR does but AI and government go well together as a company). If Google is going to see a massive drop of traffic in search, someone will pick up that money. I look at that opportunity the same way Gen Z doesn’t drink alcohol. Where is that money going? I know I’ve given bad advice with UAVS on this blog and I HATE losing people money. I’ve also made a boatload listening to CK4 on RKLB so I at least have run through a few winners to know what it feels like. TSLA is a clear innovator in the space and should be a part of a portfolio. Finally, and this isn’t AI specific, since I’ve always been a big supporter of vertical space, I like Jetson’s style cars in the future. ACHR & ETVL are symbols to look at. I have my own personally money in them, but you should do your due diligence as the investment can go to 0. Investing in the future is a great way to get rich.
