After reading the post ChatGPT wrote for me, as me, it became clear the world is changing. Rapidly. A year or two ago when the world was crying AI, no one knew exactly what it did. It produced school papers and provided ok answers, but it wasn’t deemed “accurate”. Now the output has surpassed any expectations I ever had for it, as I hadn’t given it much thought. Now, every human can produce high quality output simply by asking AI questions. Intelligence, needed on a high level to give the Large Language Models data will still be necessary, but that’s easy to control. Dumb people have become smart overnight. It becomes a game of how to use the tool.

My thoughts as a business owner:
SEO is replaced by AEO (Answer Engine Optimization). Your website is not going to be as important as showing up in the LLM’s results. The consumer will still need an e-store to purchase the goods, but you’ll need to play differently. Perhaps your name is referenced in the answer, they search your Instagram page, and your Instagram store is where they shop. No website needed. I bring this up because the idea of original thought to produce blog posts so that your website has a strong domain is out the window. Now every competitor will be able to flood their website with AI content that the results will become meaningless. Whereas people used to go to websites for info, they’ll use AI. They don’t need you to answer their questions. AI does that.
This brings me to writing for AI. You’ll need AI to pick up answers to questions from you. So, you need to curate the message you send to AI so that it, well, likes you. Bow down to the robot.

I suppose I’m late to this realization, but I hadn’t see this high quality output until now. How it will affect the future? This is the largest change since the internet. It seemed like a fad to me. Now my eyes are open and thoughts of the future are ones of “adapt or be killed”. One thought, I don’t see how a blog like this continues when the computer can take any prompt I have and write a better post. Why would you ever come to the blog if I produced AI entries? You can do it yourself. You like my AI curated content better? Please. This is the start of AI being assimilated into everyday life and I’m trying to wrap my head around the implications where no one needs to think anymore. It’ll become a game of outsmarting the system to stay alive. Good luck!
“They” say that in 10 years, 10 to 20 percent of white collar jobs will be obsolete.
I thought the AI generated post was trash. It may seem high quality on the surface but when you read it, at least to me, it reads as stale and robotic. Blogs like yours are fun to read partly because of the ideas but mostly because of the voice and style of the writers. When I read a post by Sam, I hear his distinct voice in it. AI can do some diet coke version of that but it lacks the soul and authenticity of it. AI is tremendously powerful and will reshape the world but I think (or at least I hope) there will always be a place for human ideas and writing.
That is a take that I have considered. That everyone starts to know immediately it’s an AI output and dismisses it as “trash”. Once you know it’s AI, it does seem to water down the material.
