In college, I had two songs that I wrote papers to.

The first was Soothsayer by Buckethead – a 9 minute guitar instrumental that slaps.

The second was the 17 minute version of Shine On You Crazy Diamond by Pink Floyd.

Both were long songs that you sort of didn’t know what part of the song you were at. I would play them on repeat for hours.

Those wore off though. And I’ve been in need of a paper writing song.


I don’t even know how I discovered Josh Cohen, but he does a shitload of piano covers on Youtube, mostly of Radiohead and Pink Floyd. And his Paranoid Android cover is incredible. It’s 16 minutes long which is perfect.

You may have been wondering, “Sam, you got that great new desk, where’s all the content you promised?” I was missing one ingredient, a new song. And now I have it. I wrote this whole post listening to it.
