I know most people don’t use Reddit. So I would be surprised if many people were familiar with the sub-reddit r/Celebs. The sub is pictures of hot celebs both safe for work and NSFW. Browse on your own accord and not at work.
There are 380,000 subscribers to this sub and that would make it one of the more popular. Like most of the sheep, I’m attracted to hot celebrities. Compared to the material that’s available on the internet, r/Celebs is incredibly tame. If I had to compare it to growing up, it would be a Sport Illustrated swimsuit issue compared to a Playboy. Maybe even a Victoria’s Secret. I swear, kids who grew up in today’s society have no idea how awesome it was to find a Playboy.
Anyway, as explained above, the material is hot female celebrities. Now here is where I started psycho analyzing why I like this category so much. If this category had a bunch of hot, regular girls, I wouldn’t browse it. A hot regular girl is like a dime a dozen with Instagram available. What the allure is of a celebrity is that they carry a talent or are part of a famous show or movie. There has to be that extra value added on that last part. Apparently it’s extremely important because that is the only reason I can come up with.
Another reason I think this category is popular is because browsing it doesn’t come across as totally creepy. It’s only famous, good looking woman who are essentially asking to be looked at. The quality control of the images is also high which is usually the difference between worth looking at and not. I have a few favorites and that starts getting worth dissecting because you can see if there’s a theme or not. It’s also funny because there are times where a celeb will pop up like Emily Ratajowski and even if the picture looks good, I’ll dismiss it as shit because I’ve made up my mind she is an attention grabbing whore.
