Having breakfast at 3rd and Spring Garden today I overheard 2 black men in their 60’s having a conversation. They sounded exactly like my dad.

Technology

“I am hot. I dropped my phone in water last night. Then I forgot my password and couldn’t get back in. I got a new phone and spent all last night typing in numbers but had to stop because my fingers hurt. All my pictures are gone.” It went on as the other was asking if it was backed up to the cloud and you can imagine confusion followed.

Violence

“Did you hear about the shooting? 70 rounds. One had an Uzi. Kids these days are wild. All those damn video games. It’s like the O.K Corral. It’s not safe to step outside anymore.”

I imagine it was this one on Tuesday.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A triple shooting injured three juveniles including a 13-year-old on Monday in West Philadelphia.

It happened around 4 p.m. on the 1500 block of N. Frazier Street.

Police say a 13-year-old and two 16-year-olds were injured after nearly 70 gunshots were fired in the neighborhood.

Gender

*I wasn’t sure who they were talking about but it sounded like his son* “He’s trans.” “Did they cut it off?” “He’s too young for that. He’s making his own money now as a model, but he’s too young to be knowing.”

Not So Far Apart

I’m sure there are people who read this blog who think I’m a right wing bigot. I’m currently reading a 500 page book by Tim Urban called What’s Our Problem? A Self Help Book for Societies, who outlines all of these topics far better than I can, and I promise you, I’m way closer to reality than the people who would classify me as such. I’m about 70% done and the Social Justice Fundamentalism ideals are being forced upon society. They shut down conversation and believe they are right no matter what, in fact they are not. He notes how diversity training within the workplace actually makes matters worse. Sam G’s comment from the last post rings true that you hope that this type of thought is only a small % of the people, but the highest minded universities have bought into it, and the youth will be overrun by teachers preaching equity (and mixed gender which is a whole other subset). Sadly speaking out against this will get you cancelled and the book has dozens of instances so don’t think it doesn’t happen daily. It’s fighting racism with more racism.

I heard an interesting point by Piers Morgan talking to Ben Shapiro that argued if you have a youth that has no chance at success because of student debt, no home ownership, and can’t even get a job, why wouldn’t they vote for socialism?

This will be my last race related post for a while because the book is almost done, but it’s sad to think that voices like myself are told not to be considered because I’m a white male who has all the privileges. It’s oppression and what will destroy society. But don’t you see that’s what black people have been going through all of US history? That doesn’t make it right, you can’t change the past, and making it so for the future is making it worse.

Listen to this below clip on Norm stating facts and the San Fran woman incredulous. Quite funny.
