I went to the Eagles R-words game on Monday night which was my first Eagles game in probably 10 years.

Here’s why attending NFL games kind of suck:

You can’t see what’s happening

We had good seats, right along an end zone about 20 rows up in the first level.

Unless you’re right in front of where the play is happening, you can’t tell what’s going on. Sometimes a pass would be completed and I had no idea if it was a 5 yard gain or 15 yard gain. I couldn’t tell who had the ball on play-action.

When it’s that hard to see what’s going on, you just watch the jumbo-tron which is lame.

“I can’t see shit”

It’s cold

It was about 40 degrees at this game and my feet were going numb by the third quarter. I could bare it, but who the hell would want to go to a game when it’s 30 degrees or below outside?

I would have a horrible time, even at a playoff game if it was that cold.

Getting in and getting out suck

The line to get in took 20+ minutes and you’re walking out into an absolute stampede.

“You’re actually making some good points”

But… the atmosphere is pretty good

People are into it, there’s a lot of standing up and cheering, and touchdowns are particularly exciting.

When I compare it to a Sixers game…

Maybe I’m biased cause I like the Sixers more / have been to more games, but a live NBA game is way better than a live NFL game:

  • You can actually see what’s going on.
  • It’s warm.
  • It’s quick in and quick out.
  • It’s way cheaper.

I’m glad I went, but it’s not something I’d want to do more than once or twice a year, let alone have season tickets for.
