Below is the funniest video I’ve seen in a LONG time.
The beatboxing AI is an absolute star here. The second it starts with “b-to-the-b-b-b-b” (about 37 seconds in) it’s over for me. I’m in tears. “That was a simple groove“, it’s just gold. Good for Husk for finding unique ways to use AI for content.
Husk.irl is a content creator who, for lack of a better term, exposes some shortcomings of AI.
I don’t know why seeing AI fail at things is so funny. To me, the beauty & magic in it is that it’s real. The AIs are “sincere” in their responses, they’re confident and have no sense of potential embarrassment. The humor is completely unintentional on their part.
One potential irony of AI super intelligence is that it may not be able to make us laugh as hard as these more primitive models. It could have all the knowledge in the world, but the second we KNOW it’s trying to be funny, it loses it’s comedic value. Like, if you prompt the best AI in 10 years “make me laugh“, I don’t think it will do as well as this Husk video.
Though as I’ve said before on this blog, I’m still on the side of in 100+ years, it will be so far beyond what we imagine today that if you ask it to make you laugh until you die, it could do it.
A brief parallel and to close with more funny content, it reminds me of robots trying ‘normal’ tasks too and failing spectacularly.
