My ‘next big purchase’ was my badass computer set up.

My next NEXT big purchase is even cooler – a CAR.

I haven’t done any research on the subject and don’t know what type of car would be best, but the value of a car has been on my mind a lot recently.

Biggest concern: Parking

I live on 2nd and Market. There’s not a lot of street parking around me so for convenience sake I’d likely go with a garage. The one closest to me is $225 a month. That’ll be near the same amount that I pay for the car. Is that worth it for a car I may only use once every week or two? Or do I ‘risk it’ and go with street parking?

Next concern: Buy now?

I want to go golfing, go down the shore, go to disc golf, etc. These are all SUMMER activities. With only a month or two left of ‘good’ weather, I may not need a car at all in two months. Not to mention we’re in the middle of a pandemic and there aren’t nearly as many good reasons to use a car. Should I just wait until spring?

But I don’t just want a car to do those activities. I’ve thought a lot about staying in touch with friends, and how long it’s been since I’ve seen certain people. Without a car, there’s no “Hey, I’ll drive up tomorrow and we’ll bro out!“. I’m not the plan-ahead type so coordinating with Tom or Jeff just isn’t a great solution. A car is just something I feel like I want to have right now.

So all that said, assuming I get a car, what should I get? Used? How do I go about this? Carmax? CARVANA?! Or am I wasting my time?
