This battle is the state vs the federal government. Democrats believe they can fix it themselves (why did they let it happen in the first place?). Republicans want to see the state cleaned up (excessive force is not the answer). Which brings us to federal investigations from the Feds and state officials who are not making it out of this looking good.

I didn’t like the way ChatGPT was altering my text so most of this is me.

What Has Transpired?

The battle began when independent journalist Nick Shirley, along with a lifelong Minnesotan David, began uncovering fraud by the Somali community. Many examples have been produced such as abusing the SNAP system, stealing millions in Covid aid, and creating businesses to receive funding that do not deliver results. This has resulted in billions of tax payer dollars going to fraudsters. I will bring one point to attention, every time a video like this is posted, the other side will have a reason for why it’s happening. Finding the truth in 2026 has become challenging.

This fuse lit the Federal Government to send 3,000 of its ICE agents into the city to hunt for illegal aliens. In turn, this has prompted the state to tell its citizens to “fight back”. The inevitable result was chaos. During this period, 37-year-old Renee Good was killed after allegedly driving her vehicle toward an ICE agent and refusing to flee. While many would argue that the situation could have been avoided had she driven away, the shooting of a civilian by federal agents remains deeply troubling and raises serious questions about the use of force.

In the days that followed, ICE agents were accused of continuing aggressive operations throughout the city, with residents claiming innocent civilians were harassed and intimidated. Tensions escalated further when the federal government announced investigations into Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey for allegedly obstructing federal law enforcement. What began as fraud investigations had now turned into a full-scale political and institutional standoff.

Breaking it Down

Is Somali fraud happening? ~80 people were charged in the Feeding Your Future fraud for about $250 million. Estimates of $8 billion dollars have been thrown out there. Do you believe the Somalians are good people or a bad group of pirates? If you believe they are a quality community, you’ll side with the State who says this is not happening. If you think they’ve stolen billions, you’ll side with the Feds.

Do you believe in illegal immigration to help win Elections? An argument can be made that Minneapolis is made up of a large subset of illegal immigrants. If you believe that our voting system is flawed, and is taken advantage of by illegal votes, it’s fair to say that the State elects were placed there by these constituents. Meaning that the people in the State power have no choice but to protect their citizens as they wouldn’t be there otherwise. They would go to any length to cover up their alleged crimes which would be opening the city up to illegals and allowing the fraud.

When is Federal power abused? If the ICE organization is detaining people in the street, and they have a capture rate of 2% for an illegal (hypothetical), that would be a misuse of power. Children and citizens do not deserve this type of treatment. Federal government agents hunting people is bad for the people and a weakening of the country. Think 1984. Where is the tipping point that what is transpiring is so bad that an individual becomes inconsequential? This goes back to the how outraged are you if billions of dollars are stolen from hardworking Americans supporting illegal immigrant. The State allowed it, the Feds are fixing it? There has to be a better way.

The Wrap Up

No ChatGPT on this paragraph as they are telling me that what I believe is different than the truth.

Hearing the Walz, Frey, and Ilhan Omar arguments doesn’t wring true to me as they always end with Donald Trump being the problem. I’m of the belief that these State officials turned a blind eye to the millions, if not billions, of dollars of fraud to help support the people that voted them into office. It’s hard to say if they do this intentionally, or if it’s a step by step process that gets so big that there is no turning back. They don’t want to see their constituents lives upended even if they are there illegally. They are people too.

These officials hold this mind set that our country has so much, we need to help others. Unfortunately, and I believe Democrats genuinely believe that the rich should help the poor, this leads to a decaying of a State. They can point the target at Donald Trump, but Donald Trump doesn’t give a shit about Minnesota. He is ordering the leaders of countries to be captured, protecting a country against Russia, shutting down illegal immigration, and attempting to stabilize a national economy. Whether you like the way he operates or not (I hate the tariffs fwiw), he has a lot on his plate as the President. Minnesota should be taking responsibility. Donald Trump is not the reason why their state has found themselves in this position. They may not like the way he is responding to what is happening, which I agree is too much, but this was brought on by years of incompetence. Now it’s gotten out of control and created an episode where you are being asked to pick a side. This entire event is ugly, but necessary.
