I drive on 309 for a mile or two on my way to work. Traffic moves pretty slow.

Chad getting into his Mercedes.
Roughly five times in the last month I’ve seen the same grey Mercedes speed up the shoulder of the road passing every car.
Then he gets to a point where other cars are merging, goes in their lane, rides it up as far as he can, then goes on the shoulder again to keep going clear of everything.
Is it worth it for me to go in the shoulder and cut Chad off so he can’t get around?
Reward: Evening up the score with the Chads of the world vs. the betas like me.
Risk: He’s a hot-head who would get out and kill me if I block him.
One of us betas has to stand up against the Chads, why not this beta?
Any time I consider a scenario like this, I wonder if the one time I cut them off is going to be when there’s some medical emergency and they’re just trying to get to the hospital more quickly, and can’t afford to wait. Not like I’d ever have the balls to cut someone off anyway though. So I guess my vote is to not cut them off.
I consider that too actually. When I’m in a rush, I A) acknowledge I’m being an asshole and B) get mad at people for trying to play hero because they don’t know what I’m dealing with.
However, in this case, I doubt this guy has had the same medical emergency at the exact same time of day five separate times in the last month.
It’s a lose / lose to block Chad. He could get out of his car and pop you with his glock which would be a negative. He could smash your car with a crow bar. He could just get out of his car and stare at you for a while which would be extremely uncomfortable.
You have to be a Beta bitch to this Alpha dog. It’s hard to say that being an asshole is so profitable, but in this case, it is.
Don’t block him….just use the same exact tactic as him, but move incredible slow like a turtle. He couldn’t be mad at someone copying his idea. You recognize Chad is a hardo, you just don’t have the same need for speed. boom resolution
This happens every day on 76-W at the Lincoln Drive exit. And every time, the people running the shoulder get pulled over.
