For the next 27 days I’ll be in Philadelphia for about 9 of them. This weather has been god awful so it’s a nice time to get out.
Traveling is nice because your world goes on without you. It’s in the back of your head that you’re important but the world finds solutions.

As a man built on routine, it’s fun to break it every once in a while. The hardest part of being away is the lack of exercise. I try to hit the hotel gyms, but it’s not the same as being home. Also, those days away, I tend to find myself in social situations where drinking is taking place. I can handle 2 days, but try piling them on top of each other, and you’ll find some rough nights in there.

This leads to shoddy health but a more interesting existence. Tomorrow, I’m making some sales calls in the New York city area which I haven’t done in forever because I hate New York. Afterward, I’m heading to the Mohegan Sun in CT for a trade show with business people I’ve known for a lot of years. After a quick week back, I’m off to Amsterdam, Antwerp, Brussels for fun, and Cologne for another trade show. Then back for a day and heading on a cruise to the Caribbean.
I hardly even plan these trips at this point. I’ll try to schedule a few tours in Europe before I find a beer crawl or some sight seeing event. I enjoy the impromptu experience anyhow. Meeting random people from random places always has more of an appeal to me. Legitimately, I like sitting in a bar listening to music, reading a book, watching sports, with strangers around.

So that brings me to this final paragraph that I won’t be posting for a while. I may be able to throw one together over the weekend, but after that, it’s bon voyage.
