I haven’t posted much and it’s not for any particular reason. Work’s been busy and life’s been typical. I’ve been bowling Monday and Thursday’s. Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s are typical recovery days. Friday and Saturday are mixed with socializing and Sunday is football. Once football and the holidays end, life changes into another cycle.

I try to keep work out of this blog because 1) it’s boring 2) it’s boring. Yet, we’ve caught a break and after 14 years of hard work, it’s possible a major breakthrough is occurring. We’ll keep our fingers crossed.
I finally hit 1300 in chess which is another major breakthrough. It’s the highest I’ve ever been after about 7 years of playing. It’s always off and on because it’s hard to spend that much time at a game. I suppose it’s not much different than a video game, which I semi-swore off about a decade ago, it just feels smarter.

My sports betting life has been fairly minimal after I spent the first 2 months of the NFL season losing. Part of me wants to use the never give up strategy, but it doesn’t seem wise in this arena.
Just some other random tidbits:
- I think I can still run a sub 17 5k even though I’ve been feeling the effects at the gym. My Achilles is starting to break down and each ache seems to last a little longer.

- I started Peaky Blinders and enjoy the fast pace of the show even though Tommy acts like a fool around around Grace. I’ll finish season 1 tonight.
- There is a game called Werewolf that we played Saturday night with 18 people that I would highly recommend. I’m sure there are multiple names to the game, but this was about as much fun of a game as I could remember. Werewolf Rules. I didn’t even understand the rules so I wasn’t playing it as deceptively as I could, but if you have people who all can think better than “I’m just a villager”, it would be awesome. Thanks Sam Levin for the introduction.
