Why So Popular?
Well, God, if you’re 5-foot-3 and you’re 300 pounds / Taxes ought not to pay for your bags of fudge rounds / Young men are puttin’ themselves six feet in the ground / ‘Cause all this damn country does is keep on kickin’ them down.
I point to this line because people are tired of nonsense. Is it medically proven that being fit has health benefits? Yet American’s “new world” glamorizes obesity…and I’m the jerk for pointing this out even though science and statistics would back me up. It’s funny how that works when you want it to. Make no mistake this is an American problem. It’s time to stop accepting this as healthy.
The other point I’d make about this song is it sounds as if it’s coming from a human who means what they are singing. It’s calling out politicians who walk on water. When you read 1984 and you wonder how the general population is controlled, and then you realize you’re the general population, you feel small. When you find someone who has a rallying cry against the people who control you, it’s a good feeling. That’s why this is popular.
For me, if you’re not anti government at this point, I don’t know what more you need. Battling inflation is pure manipulation at this point (see video). This inflation business is the same exact logic when they change the definition of a recession. This is Joe Biden’s America now which is manipulate the truth to whatever the stupid people accept.
We are only touching the tip of the iceberg. Here’s the headline from Today’s WSJ. More Americans Are Ending Up Homeless—at a Record Rate. Crime is unstoppable because of policies that allow them to run all over authority. I could reference 100 videos of looting and I didn’t even mention that the morale of the police force is at an all time low. Credit card debt is ballooning. Houses are unaffordable. I wouldn’t let me my mom walk in my city at night by herself.
This general malaise is part of the reason why I don’t even post anymore. No one cares. People developed this attitude of work is bad and communism is good. Keep your head down and don’t ask questions. It’s a disaster. At least there are 16 million people who heard a song against what’s killing us. Evan sent me this short the other day which I’d seen before to Moby’s song. Just wanted to share.
